Come back to your Wild

October 30th to November 6th 2027

Imagine a place on the edge of Chobe National Park in Botswana, where the savannah stretches as far as the eye can see and the rhythm of nature replaces the pace of everyday life. In this setting, our safari camp and its open-air yoga shala overlooking the plains invite you to slow down, breathe, and create space within yourself.

WILD OPEN is an immersive retreat that brings together yoga, somatic movement, ecstatic dance, and African adventure. From Victoria Falls, one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders, to the waters of the Chobe River, every step of the journey is an opportunity to experience Africa differently: through 4×4 game drives, a guided bush walk, a boat cruise along the Chobe River, cultural encounters, traditional cuisine, local dances, and experiences that bring us closer to what truly matters.

An invitation to step out of autopilot, listen to your body, and reconnect with your wild instincts.

A Day in the Rhythm of the Savannah

The day begins slowly. The first rays of sunlight paint the plains, the air is still cool, and the sounds of the savannah begin to stir. You roll out your mat, ground your feet into the earth, and let your breath guide you. Here, there’s no need to rush. The day begins simply, by being present with whatever is there.

After a yoga practice, journaling, and meditation, we gather for breakfast, taking our time to savour the moment. It’s an opportunity to nourish your body, connect with the group, and observe the wildlife coming to life around you, from birdsong to the possibility of elephants passing in the distance.

In the early afternoon, somatic movement invites you to explore a different way of inhabiting your body. With the vast plains stretching out before you, you move, you feel, and you let go of expectations. It’s not about performing, but about rediscovering the joy of moving freely and trusting your own sensations.

Then, as the heat begins to soften, the adventure continues. A 4×4 game drive, a guided walk through the bush, a boat cruise along the Chobe River, a wilderness camping experience, or an encounter with local traditions: each day brings its own discoveries. And because nature never follows a script, it also offers unexpected moments that often become our most treasured memories.

As the day draws to a close, the sun sets the horizon ablaze while you share dinner in the heart of the bush. Later, gathered around the fire beneath a sky full of stars, conversations unfold to the sounds of the savannah.

Here, adventure isn’t measured only by the miles travelled or the wildlife spotted. It’s also found in moments of silence, spontaneous movement, shared laughter, and that feeling of being fully alive.

Over eight days, between exploration and reconnection, you may discover that you don’t always have to go farther to find your way back to yourself. Sometimes, all it takes is slowing down, opening yourself to the unknown, and allowing nature to remind you of a freedom you may have forgotten.

More Than a Destination, a Way to Find Yourself Again

We chose Africa for the way it makes us feel. For the vastness of its landscapes, the richness of its encounters, and its unique ability to bring us back to something simpler, something more instinctive.

There is something special about finding yourself far from everything familiar. Trading the noise of everyday life for the sounds of the savannah. Watching an elephant cross your path without knowing what the next hour might bring. Moving without a mirror, breathing without watching the clock, and allowing your body to guide you instead of always trying to make sense of everything.

That’s also what travelling is about: learning to let go of control. Allowing yourself to be surprised. Staying curious. Taking the time to truly look rather than simply passing through. And rediscovering what it feels like to be fully present, without needing to do more.

With WILD OPEN, we want to share this experience with you. Through yoga, somatic movement, safaris, and meaningful encounters, we create space to explore differently — both the world around us and the world within.

Because, deep down, it’s not just about travelling to the other side of the world. It’s about giving yourself permission to step outside your routine, rediscover your freedom of movement, trust your instincts, and feel a sense of wonder again.

Africa is our playground for exploration. Reconnection is the thread that brings it all together.

WILD OPEN is an invitation to reconnect with your wild instincts.

Our Accommodations: From Comfort to a Wild Immersion

Our adventure begins with a one-night stay at a 4-star partner lodge in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. With its swimming pool and comfortable rooms featuring private bathrooms, it’s the perfect place to settle in, unwind, and ease into the rhythm of the journey.

The following day, we’ll set off on a boat cruise along the Chobe River, exploring the national park from the water and, with a little luck, spotting wildlife gathering along the riverbanks.

From there, our adventure continues in Botswana, where we’ll stay in glamping-style safari tents that combine comfort with an immersive nature experience. Each tent features a double bed or two single beds, a wardrobe, a fan, mosquito netting, a private bathroom with a hot shower, and a veranda. A thoughtfully designed space that allows you to feel close to the savannah while enjoying the comfort you need to unwind after a day of exploration.

Nourish the Body, Awaken the Senses

Because good food is an essential part of the journey, all meals are included throughout your stay at Munga Plains: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks between activities. You’ll enjoy fresh, generous, and varied cuisine inspired by both local and international flavours, in a setting that makes every meal a little more special.

Whether you’re starting your day after a morning yoga practice, refuelling between safari adventures, or sharing dinner beneath the African sky, every meal is an opportunity to slow down, connect, and savour the moment.

Vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary requirements can also be accommodated, ensuring everyone can fully enjoy the culinary experience.

We’ll begin our adventure with a grounding meditation, a gentle and restorative yoga practice, and an opening circle. This is a time to slow down, get to know one another, and create a space of trust where everyone can show up just as they are, without expectations or judgment. It’s an opportunity to set intentions for the journey, ground ourselves in the present moment, and gently open the door to everything this experience has in store.

– Dinner in the Bush

After a full day of exploration, enjoy a delicious dinner featuring local flavours in the heart of the bush. The evening continues around the fire beneath a star-filled sky, sharing stories and traditional tales.

Day 7: Discover Local Traditions

Bring the week to a beautiful close with two sessions designed to harmonize body and mind, while allowing yourself to be guided by the rhythms of nature.

Meet members of the Basubiya community during a guided village visit. Discover the local school and museum, then take part in authentic cultural workshops, such as traditional basket weaving and drumming.

– Boma Dinner, Traditional Dancing & Closing Circle

Return to camp for our final evening together. Enjoy a traditional boma dinner, followed by dancing around the fire as we celebrate our African adventure and bring our journey together to a close. The closing circle is a moment to reflect on the experiences we’ve shared, talk about what has touched us, and acknowledge how far we’ve come together.

Day 8: Departure

Meet your hosts

GIULIA BISONNI

Born and raised in Italy, Giulia has spent nearly half her life living abroad. Experiencing different cultures, languages, and ways of life has profoundly shaped the way she sees the world — and, over time, her relationship with her own body.

Her journey led her to the Somatic Activated Healing (SAH) Method™, created by Sah D’Simone. This somatic, trauma-informed approach has gradually transformed the way she inhabits her body and welcomes whatever arises within it.

For Giulia, somatic movement is not about performance or constantly chasing “good vibes.” She doesn’t believe we need to pursue only pleasant emotions or avoid the ones that make us uncomfortable.

Instead, her approach invites us to develop the capacity to truly feel: to observe the thoughts, conditioning, and beliefs that sometimes keep us caught in familiar patterns, while making space for the emotions moving through our bodies.

The body can be a place where we encounter discomfort and pain — but also pleasure, joy, freedom, and that deeply alive feeling of being fully present with ourselves.

Today, Giulia shares this approach through movement, presence, and somatic exploration, between London and the Canary Islands.

For WILD OPEN, she invites you to let go, even if just for a moment, of the idea that you have to “get it right” and explore a different relationship with your body: one that is curious, instinctive, free, and deeply alive.

VANESSA GAGNON

Vanessa has been a certified yoga teacher since 2019. She approaches the practice as a journey of self-awareness, guided by body awareness, kindness, and non-violence toward oneself. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free space where every student is welcomed as they are, with respect for their own limits and pace.

Her classes are accessible to all levels and invite students to explore each asana with presence and intention. Through movement and meditation, she guides her students toward a deeper connection between body and mind, encouraging stress release and a return to what truly matters.

She teaches a mindful, grounded, and compassionate style of yoga, where performance takes a back seat to sensation and personal experience.

Her extensive training in traditional yoga, somatic approaches, and sound healing allows her to offer enriching practices adapted to each individual.

Vanessa has been organizing yoga retreats in Québec since 2021 and internationally since 2024.

Her passion for travel and nature gradually led her to become a travel advisor with Voyages Jean-Pierre, based in Brossard, Québec. Since 2025, she has been organizing group retreats and travel experiences in collaboration with the agency.

For Vanessa, yoga is about much more than physical practice. It is a way of life, where every breath becomes a step toward inner harmony.
